This has been a goal of mine for a while and I finally had the "go for it" mentality today while in class. So I did. I am under no allusions that I am artistic and as such, I was not predisposed to using a template that was generated for me, however I have done my own tweaking to add my personal flair to it. Currently the site is being hosted through a third party. However the eventual goal will be to host it on my own private network. But current living will not allow me to do that and as such, I am happy using a service for this.

I hope that I will be able to use this website to both show off my skills to potential employers in the future, both during and after my degree has been completed, but also as a way to share my knowledge, skills and learning moments with others, in the hope that they will take something away from what I have to say.

Some current goals and projects of mine include:
  • Setting up a fully networked cyber security lab, that is scalable and simulated a business environment

  • Developing my skills in networking and SIEM platforms

  • Studying and completing the CompTIA Security+ Certificate within 6 months

  • Lecturing at my old high school about my current successes and learning within my degree and personal learning

All these will be documented in my projects and posted about activly within this blog. I hope to post at least weekly, however this might be both more or less frequent due to external factors such as topics I might find interesting, or school taking a greater toll on my abilty to participate in extra activities.

Thank you for reading my first ever blog post. I hope to make this a regualr and important part of my development within the cyber security space. My ultimate dream would be to become a trusted and respected figure within the community, or at the very least, have some educational value to give to those who read my posts.

If you are interested in what I have started, please share with others and feel free to engage with me as I am more than happy to chat!
